HOLISTIC BODYWORK

Thai Massage, or Nuad Boran, is a sacred dance, a prayer, a ceremony. Its true purpose is to offer the receiver a gift of Metta, the  word used in Buddhism to denote ‘Loving Kindness’. The prayer of “May you be well, May you be at peace, and May you be free from suffering” is at the heart of Metta and in this state of unconditional love, the receiver may experience healing on the most fundamental level of their being.

Less poetically, Thai Massage is performed on a comfortable floor futon without the use of oils or creams. Both client and practitioner are fully clothed. Sometimes called “yoga for lazy people”, the therapist may use her hands, feet, fingers, knees and forearms to apply deep yet gentle pressure, rocking, and stretching throughout the body. Each massage is adapted to the individual’s needs and capacities and is suitable for most everybody regardless of age or level of physical fitness. It can be relaxing, invigorating, gentle, or tonic, whatever is appropriate and desired. Feedback during the session is encouraged, and of course, you can request that the session stop at any time. Your therapist may use their whole body – in a non-sexual manner –  allowing you to be held and nurtured as you release stress, physical tension, and emotional weight. This necessitates a physical proximity that some people are surprised by during their first session, and communication of any discomfort is always respected.

Thai Massage is perfect for when you’re feeling exhausted, worn out, and needing nourishing touch. It is also perfect for when you’re feeling over-tense, stressed, and “stuck in your head”: Thai massage can put you back in your body and your feet on the ground.

It adapts itself to all and respects the limits of each individual regardless of age or flexibility.

Jinjur uses a combination of Thai Massage, Osteothai, and Craniosacral techniques.
Osteothai combines the extraordinary power, creativity and feeling of Thai techniques, with the precision, rigor and softness of osteopathic touch. Craniosacral Therapy is a very gentle method that harmonizes the membranes and fluids of the skull, spine, and sacrum. It is a light but powerful way to release tension, stress, and blockages in the body.
